Top Ten Tuesday

Books That Have Been On My TBR FOREVER | Top Ten Tuesday

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great week 🙂

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is another interesting one. Just the other day I was thinking that I should do a TBR clean-out on Goodreads because there are books on there that I don’t even want to read anymore. So today might be a good opportunity to work out what I actually want to read.

top ten tuesday TARG

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018.

  • Burn For Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian burn for burn

Ever since I heard about this story of revenge, I was totally down. But I still haven’t gotten around it. Now this series is in a box set I might be able to just marathon them all. The story sounds so good!

  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead vampire academy

I think I still want to read this…? Honestly, I’m not sure. If you think I should definitely pick this one up, let me know in the comments! Maybe I need a nostalgic paranormal-YA kick again and this one was an OG YA book.

  • Burned by Ellen Hopkins  burned

I don’t read many books written in verse and Ellen Hopkins always comes highly recommended. This one in particular has high praise. Her books often cover topical issues in interesting ways so I’m excited to pick up my second Hopkins book.

  • The Basic Eight by Daniel Handler the basic eight

I don’t even really know what this book is about, but I do know that it’s written by Lemony Snicket (using a different name), it sounds intriguing, and I like the Series of Unfortunate Events. So here it is on my TBR.

  • Before I Die by Jenny Downham Before_i_die_cover

This is one of those books I added to my TBR after seeing some Booktber talk about when I first discovered the book community. Inspirational stories about bucket lists and living life loud always get me going.

  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Pride-and-Prejudice_BN

I remember purposefully not watching the movie of Pride and Prejudice because I hadn’t read the book yet. Fast-forward god knows how many years, and I still haven’t read it. One of my many sources of shame. I have a feeling that it could happen this year though.

  • The Archived by Victoria Schwab the archived

Another one I’m not sure about. Should I read this book?

  • The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa the immortal rules

This sounds like a badass vampire book and I’m here for it. I really need another good paranormal book in my life.

  • The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima the warrior heir

A fantasy book I added to my TBR forever ago. But on the bright side, it still gets talked about today, so it must be pretty decent.

  • Stolen by Lucy Christopher stolen

As a soon-to-be psychology major at university, this book sounds fascinating. It deals with Stockholm syndrome and it’s set in Australia. So much yes!

Well, I managed to clean out my Goodreads shelves a bit! So many books I’m over with.

If you’ve done this Top Ten Tuesday, link your post below, I’d love to read your lists.

What are some books that you’ve had on your TBR for as long as you can remember? What do you think about the books I’ve mentioned? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you so much for reading and I’ll talk to you in my next post!

  1. Working on books that have been backlisted for a while now is literally what I am working on at the moment hahaha I can’t recommend any of the books you mentioned, because I haven’t read them myself. However, Schwab is usually a safe bet?

    1. Yeah I really need to join you in doing that. A lot of backlisted books I don’t even care about reading any more so that cuts down the pile a bit!
I enjoyed the one book I’ve read by her so I’m praying for good things from this one too 🙂

  2. Lovely choices, Liam! I have read the Burn for Burn series and, if I was a little disappointed by the ending of the series, it was overall a pretty entertaining read! I hope you’ll read it someday, I’d love to know what you think 🙂

  3. I think you should definitely give Vampire Academy a try! It’s one I really enjoyed, SO much better than the movie but it would definitely also give you that nostalgic feel too from the good old days of when you first get hooked on series. I always get good feelings when I read it or think of it remembering my teens coming through my twilight phase haha!
Also I love Rose and Dimitri. They give me SO many feels.

    1. I definitely think I’d read the Vampire Diaries when I’m in the mood for something fun. I haven’t even gone near the movie after hearing all the reviews though.
I’m always looking for new OTPs so yay, I can’t wait for that haha 🙂
